Brave girl

Megan continues to surprise and delight me every single day. After 6 battles of strep throat this past year, our pediatrician decided it was time for an ENT consult. We were well taken care of by our favorite neighbor friend (who happens to be an amazing nurse at Children's Liberty campus) and Dr. Ellaru. We scheduled to have her tonsils and adnoids out and we started packing the freezer with popsicles planning for what was sure to be the best popsicle/pajama party ever! Meg woke up the morning on the surgery, dressed in some new super cute "comfy clothes" from Grandma and we set off on our latest adventure in raising children. This little one radiates faith and was completely unafraid. In fact, she was excited . . . excited for healing and an answer to her prayers to "not get strep throat anymore!" She was thrilled with the little tiny surgical pajamas she got to wear, choosing her bubble gum sleepy medicine and didn't even mind the straw in her arm that was giving her drinks of water. We watched her take a few inhales of her bubble gum and she drifted off to sleep. Less than a half an hour later, Dr. Ellaru reported that her large tonsils and even larger adnoids were gone! Five minutes later we were ushered back to help her wake up. The nurse in charge (who happened to be a good friend of Tricia, our neighbor) assigned her the very best nurse and even stopped in to make sure she was recovering well . . . looks like everyone at Children's got the memo that this is one special girl!
