Sick of the sickies!

We've had a case of the sickies that just won't go away. Over Christmas we had puke fest 08 and then since the end of January we have battled colds, coughs, croup, ear infections, sinus infections and now Puke Fest 09! Ugh!! Seriously, is it any wonder I've turned into a complete germ-a-phobe? I feel like I should take out stock in hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes!

Grandpa Best came to the rescue Thursday morning armed with a good attitude and donuts after I called him with news that our sitter was sick. He watched all three kids and even delivered them to preschool on time and with teeth brushed! Little did he know the hard part was just beginning. I picked the kids up from school and walked in the door to a pile of clothes covered in blueberry (Cole's favorite fruit) puke. I took over from there and we have had about 8 more rounds since then. So after a long night, Cole is back in bed for a second nap because he is so tired and I'm on my second pot of coffee preparing for rounds two and three of the storm. Let's hope those vitamins Connor and Megan take every morning do the trick and keep them healthy. Usually they wait just long enough to make me think that we've avoided the passing of germs, but just when I think we've done it . . . round two begins.

I've decided to focus on the positive though, so here's a list of things I enjoy during the sickies:

1. I don't feel badly about staying in pj's and comfy clothes (although, Cole and I are running out since I can't do laundry quickly enough . . . )

2. My house gets really, really clean

3. The high chair finally gets taken apart and washed

4. My little monkeys all want to snuggle and cuddle the day away
5. Everyone is tired and quietly reading books so I can catch up on loading pictures from the first of February.

6. Daddy is in charge of dinner!
