Connor and Megan turn 8!

This year Connor and Megan chose to have separate celebrations.
After much consideration, Meg settled on a cooking party at Ferguson.  We made homemade pizza, decorated cupcakes and danced the night away . . .girls only!

My sweet 8 year old girl!  Megan is so fun . . . she is considerate, kind, sweet (with just the right amount of sassy when she needs to be) and quite confident for a girl her age.  Adults and kids love being around her.  Everyone feeds off her light.  She is incredibly mature while still super silly and innocent. She quotes movies like crazy and is an amazing little dancer. She has a passion for animals and is counting down the days until she gets a puppy.  She loves snacks more than meals and the girl has got a sweet tooth!  Megan loves serving others and being around people but she also adores nights at home with Mommy, eating ice cream in bed and watching Parent Trap! In a house full of boys, she and I will always share a special bond and I'm so gratefuI she is mine!

Connor was thrilled to invite a few of his boys over for pizza and cake before heading down to US Bank Arena for a Cincinnati Cyclones hockey game.  None of the boys had ever been and they were beside themselves with excitement.  Matt and a few of the dads, along with Grandpa Best and Danny, and all the boys had a blast dancing on the jumbo tron, eating snacks, and watching the game.
Connor has grown so much in the past year.  He is more mature, taller, stronger and so helpful.  As he gets older I see Matt's influence on him more and more . . . they spend a lot of time together for sports and Matt is clearly shaping our little guy into a fine young man.   He finally convinced his dad to let his hair grow longer and people keep commenting on how much older he looks.  His brain works in ways that amaze me.  He loves figuring things out.  He invents, builds and creates on a daily basis.  I see a future engineer in our family!  Along with his height, his appetite has grown too.  He is adventurous and open-minded and will do almost anything for money (which seriously scares me!).  He'll try any food or jump in a lake if you give him a dollar.  He loves the independence that comes with growing up but would sleep in our bed every night if we let him.  I just love spending time with him and watching him grow!
