Our birthday buddy!

Cole is 4! After much discussion about how many more days until his birthday and even more intense discussions about how today becomes yesterday and tomorrow becomes today (which seems like an easy concept, yet is surprisingly difficult to articulate to an almost 4 year old) and then FINALLY it was the big day! September 1st, Cole's 4th birthday! We decided to surprise him on the morning of his birthday with Reds tickets. Daddy and I both took off work and spent some special time with this beautiful boy. Below is a picture of Cole and Sawyer (Cole's friend, also an avid Reds fan!) eating hot dogs at the game.
The fun continued all through the weekend. Hanging out with friends at the Web, pizza and fried pickles at Cassanos at Indian Lake with the True's, and a Mickey themed party with the Best side! So many wonderful people love this boy! At 4 Cole is adorable, smart and unintentionally funny. He loves sports, legos, and riding his bike. There is not enough fruit in the grocery store to keep this boy satisfied and he would play the Wii all day if I would let him. He thrives on the attention given to him from his big brother and sister and he is starting to assume a new role as big brother to Cooper. Since he was a baby, he has always known more than he lets on. He quietly waits you out, never feeling the need to put himself on display except when he is trying to "out-silly" one of his siblings. But every once in awhile we realize just how much he knows and how much he can do on his own if we give him a little push toward independence. Even though he never stops talking here at home, he is very shy when around new people. He needs his sleep, can be exhaustingly persistent and he is always in the mood for a snuggle with Mommy. "Mommy, will you snuggle me?" YES! I will count up every single snuggle you ask for and mark them down as some of the greatest blessings in my life! Happy birthday to our sweet little boy!
