Slowing Down
Lately, we've been feeling somewhat overwhelmed. Running here and there, showing up, dropping off, volunteering, working, reading, helping, writing . . . basically living life in a blur. This is all the normal stuff that every family experiences, but I've decided that just because it is the norm, we don't have to subscribe to it. We're exhausted and we just can't keep up the pace. Exhibit A: see picture below!
So even though we aren't giving up everything, we can slow down a little. My friend Tricia has taught me a lot about the word intentional. My goal is not to just talk about slowing down, but to actually be intentional about it. So . . . tonight we were intentional about skipping dance class, ordering Jimmy Johns for delivery, and playing "bing bong" with a big green balloon for over an hour in our basement. Now that is how memories are made!
