Nobody ever said growing up was easy!

Cole is working through some growing pains lately. It's tough being 3 . . . transitioning from toddler to big boy takes serious work and we are learning many lessons in patience.

This potty training gig is tougher than it looks but we've finally got half of it conquered and for now we'll celebrate that! We'll accept that he only pees sitting backwards (??) and we applaud his efforts in putting his underwear back on all by himself even if it takes a really long time. "I can do it Mom. I'm a big boy!"

And now that we are making progress with potty training we decided to tackle yet another "to do" on Cole's list of things to accomplish after turning 3. Lose the binky for bed and naps!

On Halloween night, Cole decided to give his binky to the Great Pumpkin. Did you know that if you set your last binky out on the porch that the Great Pumpkin will come on Halloween night and take it? Did you know that the Great Pumpkin will leave you candy in its place? So with the promise of candy to come, Cole bravely slept in his bed all night without his binky. He did not however (and is still not) going quietly into the night. The first night he finally gave in around midnight after about 3 hours of trying to convince mommy that he had now decided to "be a baby again . . . I want my binky back Mommy! I will be a baby! I want to be a baby!!" Tonight exhaustion won out around 11. It's hard being 3, but this little boy is doing it!
